givebacktocampannjpgIt's no secret that Sumtanga and the summer camping program are extremely important to me. Timmy Collins, a former summer team member, has decided to start a grassroots campaign to make some improvements around the Pool Camp. The camp knows and approves of his plans, but this is not some official campaign by the conference. It's just a former team member stepping up to do his part.

THE PLAN
In recent years the state of the Assembly Hall has been declining and the number of people using it has only increased. Our plan is to rejuvenate the Assembly Hall at Pool Camp and to find ways to give back to camp. Through donations provided and volunteer work we are planning to do the following...

If you haven't been to the Assembly Hall in a long time, this is sorely needed. I remember being on Junior and Senior High team and coming in and seeing the floor sparkle at the beginning of the summer. Of course within a week, it was dirty, but the tiles were all in place and all they needed was a little shining up to be back to new. Nowadays, a good number of them are missing, and the ones that are still there come up when you put tape down on the floor for 4-square and programs.

I'm just about to make a donation, and I urge my fellow camp alums to do so as well.
