Now what?

A mishmash of thoughts on religion, life, technology, and whatnot.

Republicans Will Reap What They’ve Sown

You know, with each blog entry I make, I keep thinking... this will be my last political entry... but then something else gets me fired up.

First read this: The Price Paid for the Republican Rejection of Ron Paul

Excerpt:

They first tried to defeat him by paying people to run against him in primaries. When that did not work, they marginalized him. During the campaign, they made false accusations against him, and they got the "Beltway Libertarians" to further launch attacks on him by claiming he was a racist.

I don't know that I agree that this is the end for the Republican party, but I do think that this election represents a rejection of neo-conservatism. The Pro-State, Big-Government, Pro-War, Spy-Police State policies are destroying the party (country). They are reaping what they've sown. I'll be curious to see what the 3rd party vote total looks like. I know it won't be much, but in a close election, it just may make the difference. Obviously, I believe that we'll see an Obama victory today.
And it's not just about Paul being rejected in the primaries by the voters, he was altogether dismissed by the other candidates, and by the party.
Can you imagine the position they'd be in if he was the candidate? Here's a guy who was warning about the dire straits the economy was in all along, not a guy out there claiming the fundamentals were completely sound. Just listen to him in the South Carolina debate from January 10, 2008:

All the other candidates were towing the same line: spend money, don't worry, everything's great, don't save money, if you do, we're going to penalize you by robbing with with inflation. And the Faux News moderators ridiculed him for wanting to talk about the economy and how it relates to everything, foreign policy, etc.

Now let's hear from John McCain on the economy:

BTW, Ron Paul hasn't gone away... join the Campaign for Liberty. Read his book.
