There was one standout here, Jenny Lewis, but otherwise, there were several good albums, but I didn’t find a lot of GREAT albums this year. Glancing at some of the review sites on the web, there are several bands I need to check out, unlikes the last couple of years, I don’t have 90% of the albums referenced on some of the sites.

Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood

Most Disapponting:
South’s previous album was a top 5 for me a couple of years ago. Adventures in the Underground Journey to the Stars just wasn’t as strong a release for them. Still, it was good, but like I mentioned about the year in general, it wasn’t GREAT.
Dresden Dolls - Yes, Virginia. A bitter disappointment.

And now… my compilation cd for 2006, I for one, welcome our new musical overlords.
